Howard Magazine (formerly Columbia Magazine) publishes an annual reader survey of Best Restaurants in the county. The magazine is distributed with the Columbia Flyer and Howard County Times, says the publisher, Patuxent Publishing Company. But I wouldn't know, since I only sporadically get the Howard County Times at home and can't remember the last time I got the magazine. The publisher was kind enough to send the most recent (October 2008) copy at my request, and lo and behold, there were the 2008 Best of Dining survey results.
Good luck trying to find this or previous lists online, however. I think I stumbled across the magazine once in an electronic format, but I've not been able to find it since. If you can, please let me know. Because I can't find it anywhere else online, and with apologies to Patuxent Publishing, I'm posting a subset the results of the 2008 reader's survey here (there are 37 categories overall). Griping aside, it's a good list, and congratulations to the winners!

Hopefully you received the December 2008 current issue of the Howard Magazine which includes results from their Best of Howard County Survey. I just received mine yesterday for it was inserted in the Columbia Flier Newspaper.
