I've been looking for brunches or other activities for New Year's Day, but have pretty much struck out. If you know of anything, please leave a comment. Perhaps the best advice is to sleep in and give yourself over to parades and football, or maybe a movie (there're finally some decent ones in general release for a week or two).
Here's one activity to consider: The Freestate Happy Wanderers are hosting three New Year's Day walks, one 5k and two 10k's, all starting at the Owen Brown Community Center anytime between 9am - 1pm. This is a Volksmarch event, but anyone is welcome to show up and start walking. Bring a non-perishable food item as a donation to a local food pantry.
